The Creek Critter's Rap
|
There's a group of guys who hang around at TCS Jesus Christ the Savior is the one they confess They come together Wednesday night in one accord Have a blast is what they do in the Name of the Lord They start the night with a game of basketball Squad meeting's next is what the corporals will call Action time comes after line up reports Followed by a game so it's off to the courts Of all the things they can do what do they choose Camping, hiking, packing, they say you can't loose So how can you tell a Battalion trip A sure way to know is by the drip, drip, drip
(Chorus) Deep voice: Go'in camp'in! High voice: It's raining Deep voice: What gives? High voice: We'll get wet Deep voice: Chill out! All Shout: Trinity Battalion! Deep voice: Move out!
In the dark Jason did put up a tent With Benji as his partner to the mountains they went All the other guys had their tents secure But B & J's flimsy tent did not endure To the branches of a laurel their tent they tied With the winds of Gilbert movement multiplied The rain keep coming through the sides and the door To the point there was water from the ceiling to the floor Still when the dawn finally broke through the night Rain continued beating down from left to right Even though the rain wouldn't give up it's ground Those stubborn two were still Linn Cove bound
(Chorus)
Joshua is another dude that we know Water is his middle name from head to toe Even on a sunny day he can get wet But his cool reply is a big no sweat One day as we hiked along a creek down stream Captain sent out a river scouting team After waiting for 20 minutes or more Captain and the others went from shore to shore Finally when the river scouting team made it back They found out the other group had a better knack Admitting that the Captains group had bone dry feet The river scouting group were drenched in defeat
(Chorus)
Chris & Matt are part of the Shower Patrol But in their own way they have things in control While all the others are awake at dawn The two just turn over with one big yawn This is not to say that the two are slack For the awareness of water they certainly do lack Where all the other ones know they sit in a puddle Chris & Matt do to their sleeping bags cuddle There is another side to this slumbering tale While all the others stuff their face in the vale Chris & Matt exit their tent looking rag Making the others feel not nearly so bad
(Chorus)
Captain used to think himself the badest of dudes Water was a substance he knew to elude While inflicted with water others would sigh Captain would proceed with his feet bone dry This legacy continued through the years Even considered a legend by his peers That until an event which made him meek The day he stepped into Armstrong Creek You would have thought his team would sympathize Instead you saw the gleam shine through their eyes For now they knew the man was just like them When it came to water he to must swim
(Chorus)
Dave & Jon are the Corporals in charge The respect of the group they have by & large Does this mean they are exempt from the wet Only as much as a fish would get One time we went down the Curtis Gorge Testing their skill as metal in a forge When to the river they hopped rock to rock But somehow managed instead water to sock What's a little water on my sock they would say We can always be dry another day How many times can you go down a mountain And at the same time make like a fountain
(Chorus)
There's one more person to mention to you Bob is his name and fire's his queue When all other people give up their hope The fire king is able to more than cope In the midst of rain he looks for choice sticks He then proceeds to use his bag of tricks In no time flat a small flame turns to blaze Causing the groups spirits to raise In ending this story of our camping trips We've a message to tell you so read our lips If camping is your pleasure but so is dry You might better give another group a try
(Chorus)
